What year did you enter the seminary?

2009

What did you do prior to seminary entrance?

I was a high school student and worked at Rita’s Water Ice.

What influenced your decision to enter the seminary?

Our pastor was always blessed with transitional deacons all year who helped me discern the call to enter St. Charles. Also, my pastor, Monsignor Ricci, helped me to notice the call within myself. He has helped me through every step of application and continues to support me as I begin my first year at St. Charles. My Mom and Dad both brought me up with a strong faith which also influenced my decision.

Why do you want to be a priest?

I want to become a priest to help people respond to God’s call to be committed to Him by being faithful to His teachings.

What did your family and friends think about your decision to enter the seminary?

My family has been very supportive of my decision despite some initial surprise. Coming from a public school, my friends often had trouble understanding my decision, but became very supportive over time.

What do you do for fun?

I play violin, piano, organ and like to look at videos on my Mac.

Who is your favorite Saint?

St. Aaron

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?

If you feel you may have a calling, don’t try to run from it, but embrace the possibility of a life as a Catholic priest by praying for discernment and talking to a parish priest/pastor.
