What year did you enter the seminary?
2008
What did you do prior to seminary entrance?
I attended Peninsula Catholic High School in Newport News, Virginia.
What influenced your decision to enter the seminary?
When I began looking at colleges, I knew that I wanted to go to a place designed for discernment and that is exactly what I found at St. Charles.
Why do you want to be a priest?
I want to be a priest because I dearly love the Church and I want to give my life to God by serving His Church.
What did your family and friends think about your decision to enter the seminary?
My family has always been very supportive and I’ve had a couple of very close friends who have given me so much encouragement.
What do you do for fun?
I read, play guitar, and watch a lot of movies. In high school, I was also very involved with the forensic team and drama club.
Who is your favorite Saint?
St. Anthony of Padua!. I also have great devotions to St. Therese of the Child Jesus, St. Teresa of Avila, and St. Rose of Lima. I believe that staying close to Our Lady, queen of all saints, especially through the rosary, has been one of the most joyful and most important parts of my discernment.
What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?
Do not get discouraged. With a sincere love for Jesus Christ, a devoted prayer life, and with the intercession of the Blessed Mother, there is nothing which should worry us.
