What year did you enter the seminary?

2008

What did you do prior to seminary entrance?

I spent the year prior to entrance as a swim coach and helping out at a beer distributor. Before that I was a student-athlete at Lehigh University, where I graduated in 2007.

What influenced your decision to enter the seminary?

I’ve been lucky and have been able to hear God and see His influence in prayer and life. I have a strong faith which was complimented by a strong family, strong friends and a great parish.

Why do you want to be a priest?

I want to serve God as He wants. Right now that means being here at St. Charles. I look forward to being able to serve the Church in all spheres as a priest.

What did your family and friends think about your decision to enter the seminary?
My parents are completely supportive and proud. Immediately, half my friends were supportive and half had to warm-up. However, they are all supportive now and know they are not losing a friend, and I am not leaving them.

What do you do for fun?

I love to cook, mostly without specific recipes. It’s always fun to see how things turn out, especially when they taste good. I love movies, hanging out with friends and my siblings. I like to read. I love sports and playing them, especially ones without a lot of running. I’m a swimmer.

Who is your favorite Saint?
St. Thomas Aquinas is growing on me. I love how real his prayers are. He had a relationship with God that I appreciate and pray for.

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?

Stop Thinking and Act. You have to get the ball rolling. You will know when you hear His voice. You have to let Him in. There is support you can seek, but you must seek it. And do not feel alone, come up and visit the seminary. Just pray and start a dialogue with someone you trust.
