Name: Anthony Rossi Class: III Theology

Parish: Corpus Christi, Lansdale

What year did you enter the seminary?

August 28, 2000

What did you do prior to seminary entrance?
Attended Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote, PA

What influenced your decision to enter the seminary?
Priests, family faith life, and Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary who were assigned to my childhood parish (Saint John of the Cross, Roslyn).

Why do you want to be a priest?
To serve the people, celebrate the Sacred Liturgy of the Church, and because I feel God wills/desires me to follow in the example of Christ more closely than a lay person.

What did your family and friends think about your decision to enter the seminary?

My parents supported me. My older brothers thought I was not making a good decision–I was too young and inexperienced about the world. My classmates generally accepted my decision, but did not understand it.

What do you do for fun?
Read good books. Relax with family and friends.

Who is your favorite Saint?
Saint Anthony of Padua–my patron and also a Doctor of the Church, accomplished preacher and converter of hardened souls.

What advice would you give to a young man thinking about the seminary?

Pray, ask a priest you trust and admire to help you make the decision to apply; go on a weekend retreat here or at a retreat center (e.g. Mary Immaculate Center or Malvern).
